Jo's Potpourri: Edition 2

Hello all! Enjoy the second edition of my latest adventures! :D

P.S. all of the sunrises that are blurry and are obviously taken on a bus are from my early morning bus rides to school.  My friends are up early enough so that we saw the sun rise every day on the bus.  Now that the days are shorter we're up so early and at school before the sun even rises.  Bleh

Misty hanging out in my dad's sink - something she thoroughly enjoys doing

A pretty rainbow I captured somewhere <3

Me, being the talented artist I am... I drew my love for french fries

A mare I found at a petting zoo in Cantigny park, I'm assuming she's a Percheron

One of two cute pony twins

A head shot of the other twin.  I believe this one was inventively named "Spot." I gave her a good neck scratching before I left the petting zoo, she was a sweetheart <3

(Turns out roses actually do smell good.  Really good, in fact)

Find the frog ;)

A friend I found on our garage door when I arrived home one day!

The light hit my bedspread just right :)

Another friend, this one on our porch.  We sure are popular!

I <3 Soft Pretzels

And mac & cheese pizza

Misty and Sir, our cat who passed away a few years ago, scoping out the backyard <3

Tennis <3
'Nuff said :) I love my rackets with an unmatched passion <3

A cute mug I purchased at Six Flags Great America

My Halloween pumpkin (it's supposed to be a cat)

Cubs World Series game 7!!

My dinner for the Cubs game (yes, we were at a restaurant). I love salad

The last day I was able to do my homework outside XD

Nosotros tuvimos una fiesta en la clase de EspaƱol ;)

The Thanksgiving aftermath:  cuddled in a blanket with my puppy and a fire <3
Well, that's all for now! :) My family and I recently took a trip to the circus as well, so expect a post about that soon as well ;) (it's too late to do both posts now XD )

New Arrivals!

Hey everyone! Help me welcome the newest arrivals to my herd!

First we have Flora's colt:

And next, Fauna's filly!

+

(ahh I couldn't line them up!!)
=

Since the two of them decided to arrive in the midst of the World Series, I gave them Cubs themed names - the colt is named Wrigley (sorry I stole the name, Gem) and the filly is Fly the Flag!  Wrigley is obviously named after Wrigley Field, but Fly the Flag (who I call Effie, for short) might confuse you.  Jo, who, as she's previously said, lives in Chicagoland, has become keen at deciphering when the Chicago Cubs have won their game, even if she doesn't watch the game or keep up with the score at all.  "How does she do this?" you might ask.  Well, many die-hard Cubs fans like to display certain flags the day after the Cubs win their game:

I thought it was fitting to name both my foals in honor of ending the Cubs' 108 year drought.  And I guess they were good luck, because the Chicago Cubs are World Series Champions! :D

(Jo tells me that this is her U.S. History teacher's computer wallpaper ;) )

Swamped with Stories!

Oh my goodness, it's been over a month since anyone posted anything!

Sorry, we've all been busy with individual things.  We're obviously all about to share.

I, Gem, will go first, since mine is the shortest.  I decided to try and take on 3 maxing contracts!  This did not end up so well.  I didn't end up finishing them XD I got really close, and since the contract has been up, I've been spending some time with all my ponies, especially my new ones, who I will introduce soon enough, once I have names for them all ;)

To break up the horse-y-ness, I'll go next.  My reason is simple:  I've been busy with tennis, school, and homecoming! :D

My tennis racket, a tool I use for practice (no one really will play with me lol), and one of my slides XD
I actually took this photo on the day of homecoming. I was supposed to have a tournament that day, but it was cancelled due to rain.  So I played in the street for an hour in the early morning by myself XD
My super-awesome school supplies! (I decorated them myself :D)
And of course the most anticipated...

My homecoming outfit! :D It's hard to tell in this photo, but the skirt is higher in the front and lower in the back.  I did my makeup exceedingly well that day! I had lot of fun with my date and all my friends that night <3

And last but certainly the most, Sensa has been up to the most trouble.  Of course it's me XD I have bought not one, not two, but four new horses! XD  And I bred Flora and Fauna as well :) The two of them are due on the 24th, hours apart from each other :)

With the new horses, well... Jo got us all into cremellos.  She follows a girl on social media who had (he was recently sold) a gorgeous cremello gelding, and now we're all obsessed.  I'm the only one who has actually acted on this though.  Please note I was too lazy to take more than one screenshot of each horse, lol.  First I bought Tierra, my Hanoverian filly:
6/6, +144, and $7,000.  Tierra means land in Spanish :) I was going to go with Tiara, but I thought Tierra sounded more unique.
Next up came Crash the Kinsky colt:
6/6, +146, and $14,000
Those are all the cremellos I found, although my horse buying spree didn't stop there.  After Crash came Cayenne:
6/6, +146, and $40,000.  She came with the name "Hot Smoking Chili", but I wanted something a little more feminine (and shorter ;))
And the newest addition to the herd, my currently unnamed Anglo Arabian colt!
6/6, +147, $30,000
Totally open to name suggestions for this guy ;) I was really looking for a filly, but I was so stricken by his coat color I couldn't resist :) (10/22 Update: I have named him Rico :) )

If you didn't already notice, I picked each horse to specialize in different arenas.  Draft is already covered by Flora, Fauna, and their future colts or fillies, Tierra will be my jumper (and possibly cross country), Crash is my racehorse, Cayenne will be in reining, cutting, and barrel racing, and the Anglo will be involved in endurance and cross country, most likely.  I can't wait to see how they all do in arenas once they're all trained! <3
